5. Distribution channels

The only two forms of "cold" distribution [BE 9 743] , direct and indirect, have always coexisted. They can solve the same problem, but with different technologies, energy consumption and economic aspects. The choice of one or the other is often made, in the first analysis, on site-specific economic and safety criteria.

In economic terms, a well-designed direct evaporation system is less expensive in terms of investment and energy consumption than an indirect system.
