Will tomorrow's car be an autonomous living room with digital screens instead of windows? A number of sensors can be used to quantify and regulate this comfort: infrared, solar, humidity and CO sensors 2 . We could also consider the detection of fatigue (by camera) or heart rate for stress or at-risk individuals. The electrification of vehicles means that the cabin can be preconditioned using a smartphone, for example by defrosting windscreens or heating the steering wheel. But it's the seat that's getting all the attention from automakers: it could be heated, ventilated, cooled, relaxing/massaging and connected to receive information on your condition, activity and location.
