This dossier reviews the current state of knowledge and applications relating to the use of microheat pipes, two-phase thermal diffusers (DTDs) and oscillating heat pipes.

While the size of micro-pipelines requires special manufacturing technologies, they are suitable for extracting moderate fluxes from electronic components, with significant gains over silicon.

DTDs, on the other hand, are intermediate systems based on the same physical principles as capillary-pumped heat pipes (see [BE 9 545] ), and are designed to cool and equalize temperature...
