To get the best performance from a wind turbine, it's vital to choose the right site. The site should preferably have as unobstructed a view as possible in the direction of the prevailing winds. There should be as few obstacles and as little roughness as possible in this direction. With a gently sloping hill, it's even possible to achieve an accelerating effect.
