7. Conclusion and outlook

According to the reference scenario for climate change, the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) estimates that energy demand for residential air conditioning in summer is set to increase more than 13-fold between 2000 and 2050, and more than 30-fold by 2100.
