To succeed on a large scale, the deployment of capture-storage technologies requires :
R work to develop new, more economical and safer CO 2 capture and storage techniques;
industrial demonstrators to validate and improve various concepts;
a regulatory framework and economic incentives to facilitate investment in this sector.
Actions to ensure the social acceptability of these solutions are also essential.
The capture/storage sector is presented as a transitional solution, which should make it possible to lower CO 2 emissions from the use of fossil fuels for as long as it takes for alternative energies to take over....
