2. Extrapolation of wind speed to nacelle height

In order to estimate the wind energy recovered by the wind turbine wheel, the Weibull parameters k and C are extrapolated from the altitude level z 1 of the wind speed measurement to the altitude z 2 of the wind turbine nacelle.

In 1976, Justus and Mikhail have proposed, for an initial altitude reference equal to 10 m, the following extrapolation formulas at altitudes z 1 and z 2 (in m):
