1.1 Mechanical and thermal irreversibilities in a heat exchanger

In what follows, we will consider examples of optimization that explicitly involve trade-offs between processes of different natures, in this case between thermal and mechanical contributions to irreversibilities. We will again use the tubular heat exchanger as a support, and follow the approach of Brodyanski et al. while refining it.
