3. Control systems for reprocessing plants

3.1 Control constraints

The process characteristics to be controlled by the process control system are as follows:

  • extreme diversity of the process :

    • heavy mechanics (unloading of castles, shearing, packaging of solid waste),

    • fine mechanics (PU O 2 conditioning),

    • various chemical operations (dissolution, liquid-liquid separation, purification, concentration, vitrification, treatment of liquid and gaseous effluents, bituming, etc.);

  • specificity of the process equipment and in particular of the solution transfer devices due to the radioactive nature...
