3. Inspections
3.1 General approach
Any inspection planned by the European Commission or the IAEA in France begins with the transmission by the organization of an inspection notification. During a European Commission or IAEA inspection, it is France that is inspected, even if the inspection actually takes place on the site of a French manufacturer (e.g. AREVA or EDF). Inspections are carried out either by European inspectors, or by IAEA inspectors who have been accredited by the French authorities.
