3. Changes in design and manufacturing: impact on NDT and NDE

The non-exhaustive review of in-service inspection carried out on the primary and secondary main circuits shows that feedback is an essential complement to design files and end-of-manufacture status.

At the start-up of the nuclear units, this feedback was limited and was enriched with the acquisition of observation facts (9) .

Note :

feedback has developed into an essential tool for nuclear safety, through the collection, centralization, prioritization and systematic processing of anomalies, non-conformities and incidents, as well as the exchange of information between operators and safety authorities worldwide. In France, EDF, with its fleet of standardized nuclear reactors, boasts a wealth of experience that is unique in the world.
