6. Problems relating to production

6.1 Site organization

The containment system is a specific civil engineering structure that requires the contractor to have perfect mastery of the following areas:

  • boiler making for the sealing skin (REP 900) and the penetrations, personnel locks and equipment buffers; this part is subcontracted to a specialist (Neyrpic or Delattre-Levivier);

  • concrete with good workability in difficult conditions (dense reinforcement) and sufficient compactness to ensure good gas tightness (REP 1,300-1,450);

  • prestressing using large cables, subcontracted to a specialist: GPN (Groupement pour la Précontrainte Nucléaire).
