4. Codes and standards

The containment system is part of the nuclear island, and as such meets the requirements of RCC-G [9] : Règles de conception et de construction du génie civil des îlots nucléaires REP, applicable aux bâtiments et ouvrages d'eau classés de sûreté des îlots nucléaires des centrales à eau légère sous pression. The present edition of the RCC-G is the first to be made public. It is marked "July 1988".

In addition to bringing the whole package into line with new production practices in France, this edition is characterized in particular by the inclusion of :

  • limit state design rules for reinforced and prestressed concrete structures (BAEL, BPEL);

  • the results of development work carried out in France, which has found its way...
