In summary, electropolishing is an old industrial process that is finding renewed interest in the finishing of metal parts produced by additive manufacturing. This has led to the emergence of innovative processes, based on the application of bipolar pulses and the use of unconventional electrolytes.
Pulsed and reverse-pulsed polarization is probably the key to reducing the impact of electrolytes, while improving the quality, uniformity and speed of the process, thus supporting its industrial transfer towards the objective of improving surfaces at lower cost.
