5. Aerogel applications

Due to their very high specific surface area and porosity properties, aerogels have found many potential applications in various fields such as insulation (thermal and acoustic), catalysts, aeronautics, optics, energy storage, nuclear power, but also in life and environmental sciences. In what follows, we'll show just a few examples of aerogels and their applications. These examples are not exhaustive .
