3. Cracking test
The last destructive tests to be presented here are destructive tests that are more commonly found in base or filler metal development laboratories than in workshops or during validation checks for welding procedure qualification or welder qualification. The tests presented below can be used to check the behavior of metals (base or filler) with regard to hot or cold cracking. For these types of test, only the most commonly used techniques will be presented.
