10.1 Nickel and its alloys

Deoxidized nickel and Monel (26-30% Cu, 3% Fe, 1.5% Si) have good formability for deep drawing (40% reduction in swaging) or flow forming. Inconel (80% Ni, 13% Cr and iron) can be drawn like steel, but requires greater effort.

Superalloys such as IN 100, Astroloy and Waspalloy are well-suited to superplastic applications in the aerospace and chemical industries.
