ABSTRACT

From the earliest times, man has been working wood with metal tools. Over the centuries, these tools have been modified and adapted to the new types of wood and materials. They have also benefited from the input of new technologies. Today, to make full use of these highly effective tools sound knowledge is required. Cutting tools and related machines are presented in order to provide better understanding of the cutting process and thus making the most of the current techniques.

Since time immemorial, man has worked with wood using metal tools. Over the centuries, these tools have been modified and adapted to new species and materials. They have also benefited from new technologies.

Today, these high-performance woodworking tools require a great deal of knowledge if you are to benefit from all their qualities.

The aim of this dossier is to provide, in condensed form, as much information as possible to help readers better understand the cutting process, and thus make the most of current technology.
