lamellar pullout ; lamellar tearing
Cracking caused by shrinkage during welding, on a wrought material with a high concentration of flattened, unfavorably oriented micro-inclusions.
austenite ; austenitic structure
Constituent of a steel whose elementary crystalline mesh is face-centered cubic. Corresponds to iron ã stable γ high temperature (910 ≤ T ≤ 1,390 °C).
self-clamping ; restraint
Hinders free thermal expansion (or contraction) of the weld bead during heating and cooling. Self-clamping generates very high residual tensile stress.
chamfering ; chamfering
Mechanical or thermal operation to geometrically prepare the edges...
