Overview
ABSTRACT
Mechanics is a science as well as a set of techniques and industries. For this reason, the technologies of mechanics with their various functionalities and high polyvalence are involved in all the sectors of the manufacturing industry. It does not come as a surprise that the digital simulation which is based on a virtual model should be easily integrated into the processes of mechanical design. Within this context, it allows for evading the limitations of the real prototype and easily exploring multiple solutions which can thus be tested. In a few years time, the evolution of digital technology will doubtlessly make the virtual prototype essential to mechanical innovation.

INTRODUCTION
Mechanics is a science, a technique and an industry. As there are many different meanings of the term, it's important to understand what mechanics is, so that we can define a mechanical system.
Mechanical engineering is not only a scientific discipline, but also a technological one. In fact, to varying degrees, it affects all sectors of the manufacturing industry.
Their diverse functionalities and versatility, and the recent expansion of their range of components to include polymers and composites, mean that mechanical systems are now indispensable in fields that were far removed from, or even inaccessible in the past.
Digital simulation, for its part, is evolving so rapidly that it has become an integral part of mechanical design processes. By freeing us from the limitations of the real prototype, it opens the doors to innovation.
