3. Selection criteria

The data to consider when selecting a filling are numerous and can sometimes be complex, however they can be divided into four categories:

  • operating conditions (speed, pressure, temperature) ;

  • the fluid to be sealed (type, hazardousness....);

  • applicable standards or requirements ;

  • the ease of assembly or intervention required.

The final selection must be made in collaboration with users/builders according to a set of specifications designed to guarantee the best safety and sealing reliability aspects.
