3. Mechatronic components and systems

To illustrate in concrete terms what a mechatronic product represents, various cases are described here. This is not an exhaustive presentation of mechatronic products, but rather representative cases from the field. Components and systems have been distinguished by the fact that they do not possess the same degree of integration.

A mechatronic component is a constituent element of a mechatronic system with a partial level of mechatronic integration, from a functional and physical point of view, combining mechanical and electronic technologies and enabling information processing.
