1. A brief overview of the fatigue phenomenon

As this article is limited to ferrous alloys, extrapolation to other materials such as non-ferrous alloys or composite materials would be very risky due to their different behavior in the face of fatigue phenomena (for example, there is no real fatigue limit for aluminum alloys). However, most of the phenomena and parameters described for ferrous materials are similar to those for other metallic materials. Literature documents can be studied for a more in-depth analysis
