INTRODUCTION
Article "Bearing selection criteria. Pre-selection" has made it possible to define a type of bearing which, a priori, accommodates the ambient conditions imposed, and for which :
static and dynamic friction coefficients ;
load capacity and speed ;
ancillary skills, such as guiding precision, ability to accept misalignments, compactness, silence,
seem acceptable.
It is now time to validate this solution, which is in principle the most financially advantageous. It may well be, however, that similar solutions are ultimately more attractive, and it is always preferable to try and confirm one's choice by reference to similar existing mechanisms, or by a value analysis of the few solutions in the balance.
As the reader will realize, this article is an essential complement to the article to quickly refine the validity of initial choices. Intended to be easy to use, it is largely based on principles and simplified calculation formulas. Cross-references to articles in the collection dealing with the same subject will enable even more accurate validation calculations. As will be said many times, these calculations will ultimately have to be confirmed by the bearing supplier, who is the only person who knows certain characteristics that are essential to a good approach to the problem (coefficient of friction, thermal conductivity, etc.).
