3. Distribution design and sizing

3.1 Motion transformation by cam

This paragraph is devoted to the kinematic study of the transmission of motion between the cam and the valve. Depending on the case, the cam engages either a translatory tappet or a rotary rocker (or latch).

x' = d x / d α and x '' = d 2 x / dα 2

α being the angle of rotation of the camshaft.
