2. Two-phase flows

Based on Baker's work , a synthesis for classifying two-phase mixing patterns is given in figure 2 for basic configurations of horizontal pipes with a circular cross-section. The different mixing structures are roughly delimited by zones corresponding to different values of coefficients for liquid (abscissa) and gas (ordinate). This makes it possible to check, in particular, whether the flow upstream of a pump corresponds to the zone equivalent to the drip or bubble regime associated with low values of the local volume fraction and sufficiently high...
