4. Conclusion
Summing up the state of the art of conventional methods used for the design and development of turbomachinery, it appears that the unsteady effects of rotor-stator interaction are not yet taken into account, that the truly three-dimensional aspect is obscured in stage calculations, and that the prediction of losses linked to flow viscosity remains closely linked to the modeling of turbulence, which is not yet satisfactory, particularly for the prediction of heat exchange.
