Whenever possible, cold forming is preferable. In hot forming, dimensional accuracy is more difficult to control, and costs are significantly increased by the following operations:

  • blank heating ;

  • handling blanks and parts at high temperatures ;

  • surface descaling ;

  • calibration of the part after forming....
