3. 3 and 4-cylinder engines

In the following tables, we'll review the fundamental quantities associated with 3- and 4-cylinder engines, the differences between petrol and diesel engines, and the key parameters for acycling. The formulas are generally given in their approximate form, as these are the ones used by the engineer. Error levels are not mentioned, but are in most cases less than a few percent.
