2. Exterior protection technology

2.1 Film cooling

Film cooling is the introduction of a secondary (usually cooling) fluid at one or more points on a surface exposed to high temperature, to protect the surface itself not only near the injection point, but also downstream of it [23] .

Blades and nozzles, especially on their leading edges, lower and upper surfaces, and combustion chamber walls, are usually protected rather than cooled using this technique.
