3. Spray function

3.1 Spray and vaporization mechanisms

  • A liquid is atomized by passing it through a small orifice before being introduced into a large enclosure. The speed at which the liquid passes through the orifice is generally very high compared with that of the gas phase in the enclosure. Depending on the increasing liquid/gas velocity difference, different spraying regimes may emerge (figure ).
