4. One-dimensional approach to turbine assembly
The main aim of modeling a centripetal turbine is to predict its characteristic curves from its geometry. To do this, we assume the ideal case where the gases are perfect, and where the evolution is adiabatic with no unsteady effects. The adimensional variables will then be used to transpose the results obtained to an operation closer to reality.
4.1 Loss modeling
To model the entire turbine, we first need to express the various energy losses along the fluid path as a function of state variables. To evaluate and analyze these various irreversibilities, we distinguish between internal dissipations and mechanical losses.
