3. Quality aspect: Certification, validation and control tests

The quality and accuracy of measurements depend on the regular inspection of measuring equipment. Standard NF EN ISO/CEI 17025 defines the conditions and procedures to be applied to measuring equipment and test facilities in general, in order to guarantee the measured quantities. This standard applies more to measurement laboratories which have to certify the values measured or the equipment tested, than to test centers which are generally content with ISO 9000 quality certification.
