6. Solid-phase synthesis: application examples

Since the early 1990s, the popularity of supported chemistry has been applied to combinatorial techniques in pharmaceutical and agrochemical research for molecular recognition, catalysis and the construction of new molecules. A large number of organic chemistry reactions have been successfully transposed to solid-phase synthesis. Numerous journals describe the various uses of polymers and their applications in synthesis (see the documentation section of this article). A few selected examples are given here to illustrate the use of supported reagents, auxiliaries and chiral catalysts.
