Caoutchouc régénéré; reclaimed rubber
Chemically regenerated rubber using an autoclave reaction with chemical reagents (e.g. mercaptans).
Crosslinking – vulcanization; crosslinking – vulcanization
Rubber is generally cross-linked (bonding between macromolecular chains). Various systems can be used. When the cross-linking bridges are sulfur-based, we speak of vulcanization.
Green rubber
In the manufacture of a rubber part, particularly by molding, there is a step where the rubber is shaped before curing. This rubber is called raw rubber. It is prepared by mixing the various products (elastomers, fillers, plasticizers, etc.) used in polymer formulations.
