The properties sought for hydrogen storage applications are: storage capacity, thermodynamic and kinetic properties, and absorption/desorption cycling behaviour .
The thermodynamic equilibrium conditions between a metal/alloy and its hydride depend on temperature, hydrogen pressure and hydrogen composition in the material, and are represented by a Pressure-Composition-Isotherms (PCI) diagram in figure 4 .
