5. Uncertainty assessment
In LCA studies, the uncertainties affecting the inventory are often assessed during the qualification stage, using qualitative approaches, intervals or probability functions. In this way, assessment results are treated at the same level as data quality criteria. However, the complexity and stakes involved in assessing uncertainties call for more specific and exhaustive approaches.
