2. Protein purification

Developed respectively in the mid-1960s and 1970s , one- and two-dimensional electrophoresis (1DE and 2DE) are the most commonly used techniques for purifying or separating proteins. Electrophoresis is generally performed on acrylamide gel, on which proteins migrate according to their mass and/or isoelectric point.
