Numerous prototypes for magnetic refrigeration at room temperature , have been developed on various scales, ranging from a few watts to kilowatts, and with temperature differentials of a few degrees to a few tens of degrees. In France, since the G2Elab's precursor systems, Ubiblue, formerly Cooltech Applications, has produced a prototype with around 15 kW, a temperature difference of around 20°C and a relative efficiency of 60%, using Gadolinium
