4.1 Comparison of two new detector positions
From a given detection plan with n detectors, the optimum position for adding an n + 1 detector can be easily deduced from the isocontours of undetected clouds in the detection plan with the n detectors: this optimum position is at the point where the isocontour value is the highest.
It should be noted, however, that once an n + 1 detector has been added, the addition of an n + 2 detector can no longer be based on the isocontours of undetected clouds in the n-detector plane: as the isocontours in the n + 1 plane are different, they must be recalculated to allow the addition of an n + 2 detector.
