Dimensioning fire; Design fire [ISO 13943].

Quantitative description of theoretical fire characteristics in the design fire scenario

Nota

In general, this is an ideal description of the variation with time of important fire variables such as heat output, flame spread rate, smoke development rate, toxic gas yields and temperature.

FEC – fractional effective concentration; Fractional effective concentration [ISO 13943].

Ratio of the concentration of an irritant to the concentration likely to produce a specific effect on an exposed individual of average sensitivity.

the concept of FEC toxicity can refer to all effects, including incapacitation, lethality or other resulting effects....
