2. Fire safety engineering: a structured approach and training courses
At present, fire safety engineering in France is being taken into account as a result of a combination of advances in knowledge and digital modelling of the various phenomena involved in a fire.
The results of the BENEFEU study (at the end of the 1990s) showed that there were not enough schools and universities offering the fire safety engineering training needed to implement performance-based regulations. Since then, considerable progress has been made in this area (see
