3. Analysis of storage facility accidents

This section analyzes accidents involving liquefied flammable gases or aerosol dispensers in order to identify preventive measures associated with the storage and handling of these products.

3.1 Accidents involving aerosol dispensers

Since the late 1980s, a number of fires have destroyed aerosol dispenser storage facilities, both in France and abroad. From January 1 1967 to June 23 1997, BARPI's ARIA database lists 28 events involving fires in storage facilities containing aerosol dispensers. Twenty-three of these occurred in France, while five occurred abroad. The reports on these accidents can be consulted in the appendix to the document
