4.1.1 Artistic coatings. Reproductions

Polyester resins can be poured to produce bulky blocks in successive thin layers.

Coating requires resins with little color and gradual curing. Excessive thicknesses of resin should be avoided, as the exothermicity of the reaction leads to tension and cracking. It's best to work in successive layers.

Clarity in the hardened state is an important factor, as is coloration. Catalytic systems that do not turn green...
