4. Guest-host systems

There are many host-guest systems in the literature , but few appear to have self-repair capabilities.

Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) :

Analysis in which a sample is subjected to oscillatory stress or deformation, in order to measure the resultant force transmitted by the sample using a dynamic mechanical analyzer. It is used to study and characterize the mechanical properties of viscoelastic materials, such as polymers, by measuring :

  • complex moduli of elasticity in elongation (E*), in shear (G*) and viscosity ;

  • the damping factor,...
