3. Injection molding machine
An injection molding machine fills the inner cavity of a two- or multi-part mold with plasticized material under pressure, solidifies it by cooling (in the case of thermoplastics) or baking (in the case of thermosets and rubbers), and demolds the resulting parts.
To perform these operations, the machine comprises separate units whose movements are controlled automatically. These various units and their operation are described in detail in article [AM 3 690] of this treatise
