2. Example of lightweight plaster made from recycled polymers
2.1 Type of polymer used
In this manufacturing example, two different polyurethane foam grindings were used.
The first shred is identified by its gray color and comes from rigid foam scraps from the manufacture of insulating panels for car roofs. The panels have approximate dimensions of 1.60 × 1.00 m and a thickness of 1 cm. Prior to use, the material is stored indoors, where it is not exposed to the elements. The grey foam panels are ground and sieved through the Retsch SM100 mill using a 4.00 mm mesh sieve (figures 1 and 2 ).
