3. Polymerization reactions in stages (polycondensation...)
The competent commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) provides a definition of polycondensations and polyadditions (see http://goldbook.iupac.org/index.html ), but regrettably makes no mention of step polymerizations. In addition to polycondensations and polyadditions, the latter include all polymerization reactions other than chain polymerizations (nucleophilic substitutions, etc.), which proceed according to the same type of reaction kinetics.
