1. Injection cycle

1.1 Injection cycle sequence

The minimum injection cycle is shown in figure 1 .

To achieve this cycle, the main functions of an injection moulding machine are :

  • open and close the mold ;

  • lock the mold ;

  • inject the molten material into the mould;

  • keep the melt under pressure in the cavities;

  • eject parts after cooling;

  • melt the material.
