8. Aftercooling

8.1 Dimensional changes during cooling

For economic reasons, the blown body is demolded at high temperature (> 80°C for HDPE). The temperature continues to rise for several tens of minutes, or even a few hours, before stabilizing at workshop temperature. This evolution is illustrated in figure 47 . At the same time, the temperature profile within the thickness of the part changes (figure 48 ).
